Exhibit Hall

During special events, the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds opens its Exhibit Hall. The building showcases a tribute to the 56 years of the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds with memorabilia from past events. Visitors can enjoy browsing through antique machinery while they listen to stories of how the equipment was used from locals, and may also purchase jams and additional unique homemade goods. The Fairgrounds also invite local civic organizations to set up information booths throughout the hall during events.

Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens

Hamilton Gardens at Lake Chatuge, Inc. is home to the largest collection of rhododendrons in the southeast. Bloom season begins in early April and continues well into May. This botanical garden is open year round and offers a season view of native plants and trees. The mulched trails take you through the gardens and along the shoreline of Lake Chatuge. Pioneer Village

The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds' historic Pioneer Village offers visitors the opportunity to learn about mountain life as it once was. Authentic and antique structures from the nearby area were permanently moved to the fairground in order to preserve the area's rich history. During special events, visitors can tour a one-room schoolhouse, a general store, a blacksmith shop, a repair shop and an "old mountain home." The Pioneer Village comes alive during select events with mountain-life activities of the past that include soap-making, moon shining, hominy making and blacksmithing.

Hiawassee Garden Club Building

The Hiawassee Garden Club, which began holding flower shows at the first Georgia Mountain Fair in 1950, has held 55 consecutive flower shows in this building. This is the only garden club in the United States that has consecutively held that number of shows.

Craft Booths

Scattered throughout the fairgrounds are 65 rustic craft booths. The booths provide a completely covered shelter for artists to display their work as fair guests stroll along shaded and paved pathways during various events at the fairgrounds.

Outdoor Amphitheatre

The Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds' Outdoor Amphitheatre provides an ideal venue for small outdoor performances. The stage area seats approximately 100 people.
