Campgrounds

Scattered throughout the fairgrounds are 189 camping and RV sites that offer modern conveniences such as water, electricity, telephone and cable service. There are 92 sites in the first area and 97 paved sites, open year-round, in the second area. Most sites offer beautiful views of Lake Chatuge, and campers can take advantage of the fairgrounds’ many amenities including two playgrounds, a boat ramp, two tennis courts, paved playing courts, shaded picnic tables and the Hamilton Rhododendron Gardens. In Area I the deposit for leave campers will be returned on the last month.
Rates are quoted for hookups available regardless if they are used.
Overflow camping – No hookups $20.00 per day; only when campground is full.

Campground Dates and Reservations

Dates – Open year round

Check-in: 3 p.m.
Check-out: 1 p.m. daily: Additional day will be charged without prior arrangement for late departure. No late departures when others are waiting for the site.

Reservations: Beginning the first working day of November, reservations will be accepted for one month or more for the following year. On the first working day of January, reservations will be accepted for the current year. A minimum stay of two nights is required. First working day of November and January by phone only. Maximum of one site per phone call for selected dates. No phone passing will be accepted.

Deposit: A deposit of 50% is required within seven days to confirm reservations. Reservations will be cancelled if no deposit is received within seven days.

Refunds: To receive a refund we must be notified at least 30 days prior to your arrival. There will be a one full day rental charge for daily cancellations, $50 cancel fee for weekly cancellations & $100.00 for monthly cancellations. After 30 days prior you forfeit the entire deposit.

Campground Rules and Regulations

General Rules & Regulations:
  1. Domestic pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Campers are expected to pick up after their animals; if you can’t follow the rules you will be asked to leave the campgrounds.
  2. Firearms, fireworks, or other potentially lethal devices are not permitted on the property.
  3. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on all public use areas.
  4. Children should be supervised by an adult at all times.
  5. Dishwashing is prohibited at drinking faucets and comfort station facilities.
  6. Garbage and trash should be placed in bags and placed in the dumpsters located near dump station.
  7. Wildlife and plant life on the premises are for you to enjoy, but should not be disturbed.
  8. Motor vehicles should be used only when necessary. No driving on streets unless licensed driver, including motorcycles. Golf Carts are strictly prohibited (Exceptions will be made for handicap access to comfort stations ONLY, MUST DISPLAY HANDIAP TAG).
  9. Jackstands should have flat bases or wood supports between jacks and pavement.
  10. Campers will be liable for damage to the property.
  11. Positively NO fires allowed on pavement, in grass, or around picnic tables. Fires are allowed in fire rings only.
  12. Do not place trash in fire rings.
  13. No tent camping allowed in area II.
  14. Tent sites are available in Area I. No camping allowed outside site areas until all campsites are full.
  15. One camping unit and one vehicle are allowed per campsite, unless additional vehicles are registered in the Campground office. Additional vehicles should leave grounds prior to 10:00 p.m.
  16. Additional camping units sharing the same site will be charged the usual campsite fee.
  17. During Georgia Mountain Fairground events and activities, visitor vehicles to the campground will be charged $2.00/day by the parking attendants.
  18. No camping other than in designated sites unless arranged by Campground personnel.
  19. Absolutely no camping near Comfort Station.
  20. Quiet time is 10:00PM till 7:00AM Disruptive noise or behavior is prohibited. Violators will be asked to comply or leave the campground.
  21. Health Department regulations require that all waste water be collected in suitable containers and disposed of at the dump stations.
  22. Washing RV's & Vehicles is prohibited
  23. No Unauthorized Porches, Decks, or Steps.
  24. Upon ending your stay remove all personal property and properly dispose of all litter by placing in dumpsters near dump station. Placing trash in fire rings is prohibited
  25. Security Guard on duty is for the safety of you and other campers on the grounds. Campers must respect, obey and comply to all requests made by Security.
  26. Georgia Mountain Fairground reserves the right to change or add any rule without notice.
